Database

Common to all partners for characterizing ruminant systems in the project countries. This database created within the framework of the ARChE_Net project proved necessary to define the adaptation options specific to each production system.

It represents common data to characterize ruminant livestock systems in the project countries.

This common database (DBD), accessible to all partners, was created within the framework of the ARChE_Net project. It has proved necessary to define adaptation options specific to each production system. The information collected, grouped by region or study area, provides information on :

- Climatic conditions

- Fodder or grassland yields

- The physicochemical characteristics of soils

- Nutritional values of food consumed by ruminants

- Animal characteristics and performance (breed, weight, fertility, etc.)

- Fertilizing values of organic matter

- Farm economic data

This database gathers historical data from some partners, as well as new information on plants and herds, collected since 2012 with the tools developed by the project. Thanks to these data, synthetic indicators of the technical and economic performance of herds can be calculated (farm size, fodder yield, number of animals per farm) and used for comparisons between countries or between production systems.

The DBD needs to be updated regularly thanks to the contribution of all partners.
